Hi, friends. I know I’ve been absent for a while. I’m thinking about how/what I want to write here, but for now, here are some cheeses I’ve been eating:
La Tur—three milk, very smooth, same texture as really good ice cream, a little stink when sitting in the fridge but tastes mild. Absolutely beautiful cheese. (See pic below.) Recently ate this on the kind of night that reminded me what it feels like to feel like myself. Does that make sense?

Old Chatham Creamery Three-Milk Gouda—more creamy than butterscotch-y in taste, not too sweet. Gouda in general isn’t my favorite, but this one is tame enough that I’ll snack on it here and there.
Mt Tam from Cowgirl Creamery—basic and very likable triple cream cow milk; can go sweet or savory. Crowd-pleaser. Here’s a plate I posted on Instagram:
Tickler Extra Mature Cheddar—really nice, classic cow milk cheddar with some crystallization. Very flavorful. From the UK. I tend to like English cheddars.
I’ve also been eating some pretty fun snacks. I’ve purchased (or have seen for purchase) each of these in cheese shops, so feels fair to shout them out here:
Torres Selecta Iberian Jam potato chips—can be hard to find this flavor but it’s very weird and addictive. Jamón Ibérico is rich and expensive, which tracks here. The chips are so thin and perfectly crisp. Seems easier to find the truffle flavor, but I haven’t tried those. If you like truffle, I bet they’re good. (Though I’m noticing truffle as a well-liked flavor might be falling out of fashion?)
Classic Bjorn Qorn—sun-popped popcorn with nutritional yeast. Definitely one to savor. You can find this all over Brooklyn. I’d bet all flavors are good.
Legally Addictive Surprise Party—cookies made out of crackers covered in toffee, chocolate, and sprinkles. Easy to love and satisfies a sweet tooth without needing too much of it.
